Overview
Masters Swimming in Margaret River is
represented by The Breakers. The club has a good history of open water
swimming and pool swimming since 1997 with the opening of the swimming
pool. In 2007-2008 a Margaret River based Masters Team recorded a
position of third overall in the Rottnest Channel Swim and second in the
Veterans Class. In 2003 a female masters team finished 1st in the
female division. Dieter Loeliger one of the older members has 15
Rotto Solo Swims, 1 English Channel and 1 Lake Zurich crossing to his
name. The Breakers have also had good results in the pool finishing 2nd
out of the country clubs in 2004. Interest in pool swimming had waned
and the club has dropped the affiliation with Masters Swimming WA
